The only downside is that the unwrapped model gets scaled down a bit, so it would have to be scaled back up to fit in Max, or the resulting splines scaled to the right size in AI. I have a video link below, tested it to make sure it works and it did for me. Then you could select all splines, convert to shape - linear, and export the splines in AI format and bring them into Illustrator. This means you can take a copy of your model, unfold the UV's then have the model present that way in the 3D space. You can copy the channel info from an unwrap and then use it for geometry. (Kudos to Design Strategies and their Youtube Channel.) Your post gave me some ideas and I did some searches based on different parameters and discovered something I didn't know before. ![]() if the image is large enough, that might work out with minimal rough edges. Then you could export the path to illustrator (ai). Maybe you could render them very large as a TIF, open them in Photoshop and use Control click on the alpha channel to make it a path, then turn that into a Work Path in the paths menu. Why are you redrawing them, or what is the purpose of your current workflow? I'll do what I can to help. That being said, let's still find a way to make your life easier here. When Max 2017 got vector support for texture maps, I incorrectly tied this format in with it and that's my fault. The format itself isn't saving out correctly due to unicode changes over the years. ![]() It appears this is a legacy format and is no longer fully supported. You are correct that eps files are not saving out correctly, even out of the regular render buffer. I've edited that post to explain my mistake. I actually made a mistake in my earlier post and for that I apologize.
